We charge very competitive prices to set up a web site for the personal customer. It can be as simple or complicated as you require. Prices start for a 2 page web site, which we set up with a web name for you. Unfortunately the internet (web) is already expanding rapidly so you might not get your first choice of web address, but this is probably why it is a good idea to think about setting up a simple site now so that you can log yourself an internet address, otherwise you might find that someone else has chosen your preferred address already. Your website name would follow the format of - www.(which stands for world wide web) followed immediately by your web name, then by the web providers name (i.e. kwdhost), then .co.uk or .com. It is used by other internet users so that they can find your web address, it is almost like an electronic postal address and can be used along side E-mail (which is an electronic alternative to sending a letter), as a billboard to let people know all about you or your family, you can put almost any information that you like on a web site. If your web address incorporates your web providers name it is usually the cheapest way to get a web address, some providers give you a free address when you sign up with them. If you have a web address with just your web name followed by .co.uk this is usually the next step up, and the .com addresses are the most expensive addresses to acquire. The providers can charge you a monthly fee for enabling you access to the net and/ or for storing your web site for you, so that it can be accessed at all times by any one else who is logged on to the internet. Depending on the provider this can be 24 hours a day access, or limited access, which is why some providers charge a monthly fee for a good access service, or a free service for limited and slower access to the net. But it is possible to find new providers that are setting up all the time, if you are paying your provider for their services you must make sure that you use one that has been recommended where possible. Depending on where we access the Internet from, this can be UKOnline (pay as you go, dial-up), Demon Internet (dial-up, monthly fee), or BT OpenWorld (permanent fast connection, quarterly fee).
